you know, it’s Wednesday!

and after two weeks of madness, Wednesday is once again on a Wednesday…

Wednesday being the day when new comic books hit the shelves.

so, here’s a few tidbits to celebrate:

the Dabel Brothers website has teaser art up for the forthcoming Dresden Files comic book. here’s a sample:

yay! Murph is blonde and no longer excessively tall!

the trailer for Hellboy II: The Golden Army is up on Apple’s website. i realize it was available on other sites previously, but it’s just so pretty in QuickTime HD…

i’m not even going to discuss how “One More Day” has hosed the continuity of Spider-Man (worst retcon ever?) and the Marvel Universe – i’m hoping it’ll all go away soon-ish.

closing on a serious note, here’s one of the most touching stories concerning comic books i’ve ever heard. Dark Horse Comics held a contest where the prize was a guest appearance in Joss Whedon’s new Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8 comic. they asked for stories of how the TV show had touched fans’ lives; what they got was a letter written by a husband for his disabled wife, telling of how her connection with Joss’ characters Drusilla and River Tam helped her cope with a descent into schizophrenia. very sad, but inspiring as well.

happy Wednesday, all!

quote of the day:

“I said, ‘Hey, you, on the other side – let her go. Because for her I will cross over, and then you’ll be sorry!’ ” – Hellboy, Hellboy
