you know what’s been interesting about Gonzales’ departure?

overseas reaction to it.  specifically, that of the U.K. press.

it’s illuminating that instead of reporting on the duties of the Attorney General, they reported instead on what Gonzales actually did for BushCo. makes one wish our press had done the same during his tenure.

Gonzales’ job was to represent the US government (not the President) in legal matters. instead, as Attorney General, he continued functioning as GW’s lawyer – finding legal justification (sometimes tissue-thin) for the executive’s desired courses of action.

wonder who Bush will put up next?
