sad news from Beaufort…

today, during the 2007 MCAS Beaufort Air Show, one of the US Navy’s Blue Angels crashed, killing the pilot. early reports indicate it was Blue Angel Number 6. my thoughts and prayers go out to the pilot’s family, friends and fellow pilots.

i’ve been lucky enough to see the Blue Angels perform on several occasions, including last year (their 60th year performing). i hope that they recover from this crash as they have done in the past, continuing to bring their special joy and amazement to crowds in and out of the US.
