so, architects are building things in Second Life. Dutch teens are stealing virtual furniture.
it makes one wonder where reality begins and ends – or if the virtual world is just as “real” as the meat world.
it almost adds credence to the Copenhagen interpretation, or at least new views on the idea of an observer-created reality.
makes my brain hurt a little.
so, what is reality? is Second Life “real”? if it does qualify as real, what about the less-completely figured worlds of internet boards and MUDs? many people have an idealized persona they advance on the internet – is that persona separately “real”?
i really wonder about the future – as lines between the digital and the world outside the servers blur, what’s to be the result?
